Trip to Pucks
Early last December Diane & me along with Ron & Cathy Haffling, took a walk down Michigan Avenue to the Midway Club located in the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business at 450 North Cityfront Plaza Drive. The Midway Club has a small restaurant; about twelve tables, right on the Chicago River overlooking the Michigan Avenue Bridge. The restaurant is run by Wolfgang Puck; it is a four star restaurant and a nice place to have a lunch.
The Midway Club is private and there are no signs that the restaurant is run by Puck. Ron found the restaurant when he came across a newspaper article and decided to check it out. The view is fabulous for anyone that has affection for Chicago’s magnificent mile. The walk was about a mile from the Haffling’s condo and gave me an 
opportunity to experiment with my new camera.
The Haffling’s condo is on the corner of State & Division and offered the opportunity to get some good photos from the twenty-second floor. The area around State & Rush streets is a hot bed of activity and is celebrated for the nightlife it offers along with great restaurants and bars. The small triangular area at the corner of State & Rush has a park like feel to it and has sitting benches good for a rest and people watching. It has drawn the nickname of Viagra Square for the preponderance of middle-aged gentlemen that can be seen resting on the benches.
